Our second trip to Borduria promised something completely different: a high tea at The Claribel, the island’s only holiday resort, deserted for decades and fallen into disrepair.

Until our diners arrived that is! They were served amidst the faded opulence of The Claribel by the hotel’s only remaining member of staff, and joined for the evening by Alonso, Gonzalo, Sebastian and Antonio, trying to make sense of the strange scenes that appeared before them…
The menu was inspired by a classic high tea, with a bit of a Russian and Eastern European twist, kicking off with Beetroot Borsch…

Followed by beetroot, vodka and juniper cured salmon with dill, courgette and sheep’s milk cheese tarts, homemade bread, Russian potato salad and pickled cucumbers…

And polished off with Black Forest Gateau Cake and Bordurian Battenburg…

Washed down with our handmade Bordurian Blend tea…

Overall it was an awesome evening!
