Earlier this year we teamed up with theatre production company RETZ at their temporary space on Hoxton Street to create a series of unique supper clubs that took place in the weird and wonderful world of Borduria!
RETZ describe themselves as a company that ‘tells stories that audiences interrogate, explore and edit unlimited by platform, location or time’. From January to June 2012 they retold the story of Shakespeare’s The Tempest in 6 installations, completely transforming the shop space each time, from wrecked ship, to power station control room and from Prospero’s library to an abandoned holiday resort.
For our first event, diners joined Caliban in her secret cave for a fishy supper and fruits from the island…

Guests were met by border guard Uri, with bloody mary shots…

Uri uses his brute strength to help us shuck oysters in our teeny-tiny makeshift kitchen!

Whilst Caliban pours the drinks…

Diners tucked in to oysters, scallops with spiced cauliflower puree, a saffron and eel stew and Miranda’s elderberry jellies.
Next stop: The Claribel Hotel…
